NOTES
English Description: Unique manuscript describing events in the colony New Netherland from the years 1641 to 1646. In combination with a later written article by J. W. Schulte Nordholt, it provides a good image of the perceptions of a colonist from this period. The document is composed of a number of quires/sections and numbered loose pages. Five pages have disappeared (29 to 32). The overall condition of the document is good but it is fragile.

Dutch Description: Uniek handschrift dat de gebeurtenissen in de jaren 1641-1646 beschrijft in de kolonie Nieuw Nederland. Tezamen met het later verschenen artikel van de hand van Jan Willem Schulte Nordholt geeft het een goed beeld van de opvattingen van een kolonist uit deze periode. Het document bestaat uit een aantal katernen en losse genummerde bladzijden. Er ontbreken vijf bladzijden (29 tot 32). De algemene conditie van het origineel is goed maar kwetsbaar.
