Correspondence in this collection comprises the personal and administrative letters and communications of Sidney Robertson relating to the California Folk Music Project. It includes correspondence pertinent to the project written before it opened in November 1938, during the project, and following the project. The correspondence documents the process by which Sidney Robertson sought funding and support for the project, the administrative details of managing the project, and valuable ethnographic field data about the performers and the music they recorded for the project.
