Locating HIV/AIDS Services

Find care and services

Finding HIV/AIDS services for yourself or for someone you care for can sometimes be a challenge. Below are some Federal resources that may be useful:

Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)–HIV/AIDS Bureau
HRSA offers convenient links to help you find care providers, AIDS service organizations, HIV testing centers, and other programs. For more information, see HRSA’s The HIV/AIDS Programs: Find HIV/AIDS Care.

HRSA also offers links to basic information on health insurance, the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), and state assistance. For more information, see HRSA’s Learn More About Health Care.

Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
HUD oversees the Housing Options For Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program. The HUD website offers information on state-level housing services for people living with HIV/AIDS,. The site also offers accessible information on how to apply for services.

HIVTEST.ORG Exit Disclaimer
The CDC offers this site, which has lots of information about living with HIV/AIDS. It also has a locator to help you find a nearby HIV testing center by entering your ZIP code.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
SAMHSA provides a comprehensive locator for mental health and substance abuse services, as well as links to resources specifically related to HIV/AIDS and mental health and substance abuse.

National Institutes of Health (NIH)– Clinical Trials
ClinicalTrials.gov is a registry of Federally and privately supported clinical trials conducted in the United States and around the world. Clinical trials are research studies with human volunteers. They are designed to answer specific health questions or find safe and effective treatments. If you would like to volunteer for a clinical trial, the registry will give you information on contacting researchers. www.clinicaltrials.gov
