NAELA Elder Leadership Award

The NAELA Elder Leadership Award recognizes the recipient's life and work for the benefit of seniors. The award can also be given to a senior (age 65 and over) who is making significant contributions to society. The Elder Leadership Award includes a monetary contribution in the recipient’s name to a charitable organization with whom the award recipient has worked closely.

The award is designed to encourage and promote activism and involvement by seniors and for the betterment of the lives of seniors. NAELA Members can nominate a person who meets the following criteria:

  1. The candidate must have made a significant contribution to seniors on a national level in the form of sustained exemplary service, or as a result of an outstanding single achievement or public service. Or, the candidate is a senior (age 65 and over) who is making an outstanding contribution to society on a national level in the form of sustained exemplary service, or as a result of an outstanding single achievement or public service.
  2. The candidate must have demonstrated by actions, his or her commitment to improving the lives of seniors or for betterment of society.
  3. The candidate’s contributions must have been made within the United States or its territories.
  4. The candidate may not be a member of NAELA.
