Hold Mail Service

If you’re going away for a while, take advantage of our Request Hold Mail service. We’ll keep your mail safely at your local Post Office™ until you return. Schedule the service up to 30 days in advance, or by 2AM CST (Mon-Sat) on the start date. Each address can have one Hold Mail scheduled at a time. All mail will be held, rather than an individual's mail.

Please be aware that this service is voluntary; and that requested information is required to provide the service. Collection of information for this service is authorized by 39 USC 403 and 404. We do not disclose your personal information to anyone, except in accordance with the Privacy Act. Authorized disclosures include limited circumstances such as the following: (a) in a legal proceeding in which the USPS is a party or has an interest, or pursuant to federal court order. (b) to a congressional office at your request; (c) to a contractor, such as a technology provider, customer service provider, or other service provider, acting on behalf of the Postal Service. (d) to a government law enforcement agency in accordance with law. (e) to the sender or address of the mail-piece in connection with the resolution of a claim. (f) to an expert consultant for the purpose of determining the value of a lost or damaged item, or to determine otherwise the validity of the claim. When will we
hold your mail?

Tell us when you'll be gone and how you'd like us to deliver the accumulated mail. Add delivery instructions if you need to.
Select the start and end dates.

We can hold your mail for any timeframe between 3 and 30 consecutive days. On the end date, we'll deliver your held mail.

Gone longer than 30 days? Have all your mail sent in a weekly batch to your temporary address with Premium Forwarding Service®.
The person who prepares this form states that he or she is the person, executor, guardian, authorized officer, or agent of the person for whom mail would be redelivered under this order. Anyone submitting false or inaccurate information on this form is subject to punishment by fine or imprisonment or both under Sections 2, 1001, 1702 and 1708 of Title 18, United States Code.
