  10. We here at GSA are committed to reducing excess or aging property, and getting the best deal for the American taxpayer. That is why we issued a notice to seek redevelopment ideas for a cluster of aging buildings in the L’Enfant Plaza area of Southwest Washington, D.C.
  11. Yesterday, Acting Administrator Dan Tangherlini spoke to the National Academies about GSA's commitment to creating savings for the federal government and the American taxpayer through sustainable procurement.

  12. The White House just announced that GSA won a 2012 GreenGov Presidential Award for Green Innovation. Congratulations to the General Services Administration, Public Buildings Service, Mid-Atlantic and their work implementing "reverse osmosis (RO) technologies at the Veterans Administration (VA) Center in Philadelphia, [which] developed a more efficient way to use potable water in cooling towers."
  13. GSA released two reports on implementing cost-saving and energy-conserving green technology in federal buildings. Savings could be from 25-50 percent over baseline conditions.
  14. The Green Proving Ground program released two new studies on energy efficient technology. By testing the effectiveness of these technologies, GSA is finding new ways that federal buildings across the nation can save both energy and taxpayer dollars http://ow.ly/e0ZXk
