      Charley White was born Charles Anchowitz in Liverpool, England, in 1891, but spent most of his life in Chicago. His ring career lasted from 1906 to 1923, though he had one bout in 1930. He died in 1959. Two of his brothers were also boxers, fighting under the names Jack White and Billy Wagner.
