wow. Shoeless Joe before being traded to the future Black Sox.

Is shoeless Joe Jackson still denied recognition in the baseball hall of fame? Can't an argument be made that even though he didn't willingly come forth to expose his team mates for their throwing that infamous game, yet Joe was nevertheless on the field that day playing his heart out -- probably in more ways than one --, and so lovers of the game may graciously give Joe a break?

Yeah, he's still banned, even though a grand jury acquitted all the players accused in the scandal. It's sad, especially considering that to this day he still holds multiple records in major league ball.

Can the Baseball Hall of Fame make those on MLB's ineligible list eligible for election since the Hall is separate from the league?

I do not know the ins and outs of baseball (being british and all) but I recall reading a book about shoeless. he inspired me to want to play the game... i did and when i was 13 i was dragged onto the school team... that was so long ago now and...well.
thank you shoeless. playing for "dinner money" is all you gave a damn about, not the pazazz, jus the game.
cheers.
