 List of Founding Partners

The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress approaches an anniversary – its tenth year of collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich, one-of-a-kind oral histories of the men and women who left the comfort and safety of family, friend, and home to serve our nation.  To date the VHP collection numbers more than 68,000.

This significant milestone provides us with an opportunity to thank you – the thousands of volunteers who contribute the stories that comprise the VHP collection.  You and your dedicated service are the reason VHP has grown to the largest oral history program in the history of the United States.

As a way to show our gratitude for your role in the Veterans History Project, your organization will be included on the VHP website as a Founding Partner, which includes only the names of VHP Partners from its beginning to 2009.

Much remains to be done, and we look to the continued dedication and inspiration of VHP Contributors to collect the unique stories of the remaining millions of American wartime veterans.

Again, thank you.

Sincerely,

Ron Kind and Dick Lugar
