Sound recordings: In Italian and French.
Comprises a group of field materials documenting Louis Brangone performing unaccompanied Italian and French songs and music on May 7, 1939, collected by Sidney Robertson Cowell in Woodside, California.
Recordings:W.P.A. Field Report notes: "An Italian plasterer emerged from somewhere and insisted upon hearing his voice recorded. The Slavonians [Croatians] bore with him as one does with a spoiled child but I was pleased to find that he knew some quaint songs in French about Garibaldi -- unexpected bounty."
Yellow song check-list notes: "Louis Brangone is a quarry worker, a neighbor of Tony Dedo [Croatian performer recorded for this collection] who insisted upon being heard. He is Italian [from Domodossola] but has worked up and down the Rhone Valley in France."
