    Caption from Down Beat: Duke Ellington (Zanzibar). Duke was finally allowed to play a concert in Washington, D. C., his home town. At the Watergate, June 6th, he drew a crowd of 7,000 with another 2,000 catching the show from the Lincoln Memorial grounds, Arlington Bridge, and from canoes in the Potomac River.
