19th and 20th Century Foreign Newspapers in Original Format
Inventory of Volumes Held in Remote Storage

Picture

This is a listing of foreign newspaper volumes held in storage for the Newspaper & Current Periodical Room based on an inventory conducted Fall, 1998. Arranged by country, then city, it lists the bound volume control number, total volume count, and summary holdings for each title (titles may vary from what is listed). The inventory does not provide detailed holdings; dates listed may have unspecified missing issues. Also, "misc" refers to miscellaneous issues that have been collected separately for each country; these portfolios may include single issues that supplement the holdings of cities listed. Detailed holdings of portfolios and bound volumes are available by contacting Reading Room staff. In most cases, microfilm is not available for the volumes inventoried.

SPECIAL NOTICE:
Beginning November, 2010, the Serial Division transferred the foreign newspaper volumes to an alternate remote storage facility. Although the move is essentially complete and volumes are once more available for researchers, please note that individual volumes or titles requiring problem resolution may still be unavailable in reopened portions of the collection.

We appreciate your understanding during this facility change. Please contact reading room staff via Ask a Librarian before requesting bound newspapers. To better notify you regarding the status of a bound newspaper delivery, always provide a phone number where you can be reached so that we can confirm delivery.
