Oliphant's Anthem is the companion book to an exhibition of Pat Oliphant's work at the Library of Congress and celebrates the acquisition of a portfolio of his work by the Library's Prints and Photographs Division. Sixty works, highlighting the career of America's most influential political cartoonist, have been chosen from a large number of original cartoon drawings, sketches, and sketchbooks in the Library's collection. Among these are the important drawing from the Vietnam era that won Oliphant a Pulitzer Prize in 1966 and numerous other images that have entered into our collective memory of the last thirty years.
