      Toscanini, conductor of the Metropolitan Opera from 1908 to 1915, seen in April, 1915.
      He was leaving New York on April 24th, missing the final performances of the season, for rest in Italy.
      This is probably a candid shot of Toscanini leaving on the Royal Italian Mail steamship Duca degli Abruzzi for Genoa, with his wife Carla De Martini Toscanini.

      Thanks for the further information on these photos of Toscanini. The candid nature does make it seem like he was unaware of the photographer, so perhaps a small or hidden camera. We will add more information to the record when we update.
