Hamilton, co-author with Stokely Carmichael of "Black Power: The Politics of Liberation," spoke in Kalamazoo College's Stetson Chapel on October 31, 1968, followed by a question and answer period. At the time of his speech, Hamilton was Chairman of the Department of Political Science at Roosevelt University.
