Wave II Convening: Explore a Virtual “Innovations Showcase”

Editor’s Note:  This blog is the second in a series of posts reflecting on a recent gathering of Wave II grantees.

Last week, NGLC invited our Wave II innovators and researchers to Atlanta for a “capstone” convening to mark the end of their tenure as NGLC grantees.

The 19 Wave II grantees have been developing and refining learning modules aligned to the Common Core Standards in 6th to 9th grade. They include game developers, embedded assessment creators, curriculum writers, and learning science researchers.

Throughout the last year, each grantee team has been challenged to create interactive and high-quality content and to get it into the hands of teachers for feedback and refinement.

To celebrate their work, their convening kicked off with an “Innovations Showcase” overlooking the Atlanta skyline. There, grantees set up posters and displays that described their work, their key accomplishments, and their needs in the months ahead.

In this virtual Slideshare gallery, you can click through to read more about their work. Are you a potential partner? A resource? Email the grantees directly using the contacts listed on each virtual poster or explore their project pages: http://www.nextgenlearning.org/wave-ii
