Not the Canadian Dr. Mary Crawford of the same era:
    www.mhs.mb.ca/docs/features/timelinks/referen ce/db0013.shtml

This Dr. Mary Crawford was from Brooklyn and was part of a group of doctors who went to help at the American Ambulance Hospital in Paris; she returned in the autumn of 1915 and gave an interview to the New York Times about her experiences there ("Woman Surgeon Home from War: Dr. Mary Crawford Says American Hospital in Paris Has Accomplished Wonders," 1 October 1915).
