The Near East Section of the African and Middle Eastern Division cordially invited you to attend a symposium and concert
In Observance of Turkmenistan Culture Day. A Series of Events Celebrating Turkmenistan on the 20th Anniversary of Independence and a Symposium on the Literary and Performing Arts of Turkmenistan.
Following the symposium's panels a film Shukur Bakhshi, focusing on the events in the life of Turkman poet Shukur Bakhshi was screened and a Twentieth Anniversary Concert was performed by the Turkmenistan Folk Ensemble.
This symposium was presented in cooperation with the Smithsonian Institution, the U.S. Department of State, the Embassy of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan This program was made possible with generous support from the Chevron Corporation.
