Elizabeth Smith Brownstein, author of "If This House Could Talk ...: Historic Homes, Extraordinary Americans," discussed her new book, "Lincoln's Other White House; the Untold Story of the Man and His Presidency," in a lecture sponsored by the Humanities & Social Sciences Division. Using diaries, letters and (often amusing) eyewitness accounts, she offered new insight into the life of President Lincoln and his family at the Soldiers Home, called the most important unknown presidential site by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Speaker Biography: Elizabeth Smith Brownstein is a graduate of Wellesley College and the London School of Economics. She is a researcher, writer, and producer of cultural documentaries and public affairs programs for both public and commercial television.
