Music for the Twenty-first Century
A unique instrumentation of flute, clarinet, electric guitar, double bass, and piano brings a fresh sound and a new perspective to the classical tradition, infused with a blend of musical influences that reflect the diverse backgrounds and interests of its members, including three composers.
Founded by composer/pianist Missy Mazzoli—one of the hottest voices in the indie classical movement— the new all-star, all-female chamber‑rock quintet of winds, strings, keyboards, and lo‑fi electronics, performs Mazzoli's “distinct blend of dreamy post rock, quirky minimalism, and rich romanticism.”
