I'm living around the corner from this road.
Very nice photochrom, nice stately atmosphere.
The Scheveningseweg is a long, straigh road, designed bij Constantijn Huygens in 1653. The road connects the old centre of The Hague and the fisherman's village Scheveningen on the coast.
It is the first paved road in Holland outside cities built-up areas. Construction of this new 'Zee-straet van 's Gravenhaghe op Schevening' (seastreet from The Hague to Scheveningen) was finished in 1665.
