[Portrait of Art Hodes, Ole South, New York, N.Y., ca. Oct. 1946]

    1 negative : b&w ; 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 in.

Caption from Down Beat: Piano: Art Hodes: Cover the left third of this picture, then lay the picture on its side. Brother Hodes really looks "stretched out." But it's just that lost look Art gets when he plays. Only thing dead about the set-up is business at the Ole South where Art leads his orchestra. Hodes and the management courageously brought a "mixed" unit into the brand new Broadway spot. But they timed their opening with the music business's own private depression.
