Every veteran has his or her own war, and each is custodian of a unique story and memories. At the Veterans History Project, we treasure the personal narratives sent to us by veterans from all wars. Vivid as if they happened yesterday, these heartfelt accounts make us laugh, cry and remember. The stories are not a formal history of war, but a treasure trove of individual feelings and personal recollections.

Companion Web Site - Voices of War
The Veterans History Project is proud to present the companion Web site for the first book of stories drawn exclusively from its collections. Voices of War relates war through the eyes of 60 veterans and civilians caught up in the momentous conflicts of the 20th century. Richly illustrated with photographs, drawings, and paintings from the Project's own collections, Voices of War relives the totality of war in the words of the men and women who experienced it, through their oral history interviews, memoirs, diaries, and correspondence.
