The quotation embroidered on this baseball cap was expressed by Thomas Jefferson to his friend John Adams in 1815. Jefferson wrote this to Adams after offering to sell his books to Congress. Congress purchased Jefferson's personal library for $23,950. The valuable acquisition was the foundation for rebuilding the Library of Congress' collections after an 1814 fire. Many contemporary bibliophiles can identify with Jefferson's sentiment. One size fits most. Specify RED, BLACK (with white stitching) or KHAKI (with navy stitching).
