In this aerial view you can see the United States Capitol Building, the Thomas Jefferson Building, the United States Supreme Court above and left of the Capitol, and in the distance is the Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) stadium. If you look closely at the front of the Capitol you can see a group having their graduation pictures taken in front of the Capitol. Hundreds of high school groups come to Washington for this Spring ritual every year. The view is basically due east and the Capitol is approximately two and a half hours from the Atlantic Ocean. Carol Highsmith, the distinguished photographer, has comprehensively photographed the interior of the Thomas Jefferson building and along with much of her other work, has donated them to the Library of Congress.
