Around the Capitol

The Capitol is full of exciting things to see and symbols of America. In the House Chamber, where the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives meet, you will see eagles on special items like the mace and the coin silver inkstand. Of course, you will also see an American flag behind the rostrum.

Lots of people work in the Capitol, too. Members may be in the House Chamber voting on a bill, with the Sergeant at Arms keeping an eye on them. Capitol Police Officers may be patrolling the hallways. You may also see tour guides showing visitors the art and history of the Capitol.
