Carver: Solar Project along Route 44

​MassDOT Highway Administrator Frank DePaola joined Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources Commissioner Mark Sylvia today in Carver to celebrate a 99 kilowatt solar project located on MassDOT property along Route 44. The solar project installed by SolareAmerica is just the third project in the nation built along a divided highway.
The installation is supported by a $150,000 grant through President Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and will provide 100 percent of the energy needs for the town’s water treatment plant.

Opening of Wonderland Intermodal Transit Center

Transit Center offers amenities to commuters; completion marks first major milestone in redevelopment of Revere’s Waterfront Square

BOSTON – The Patrick-Murray Administration today celebrated the opening of the new Wonderland Intermodal Transit Center, a $53.5 million project shepherded to completion with federal, state and local support, and a shared vision for smart transit-oriented development for Revere’s Waterfront Square.

MDOT puts Battle Creek Intermodal Transportation Center video on YouTube

​June 12, 2012 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has posted a video news release to its YouTube channel on www.youtube.com/michigandot. The video captures the excitement of a special ribbon-cutting event held today (June 12) for the opening of the $3.6 million renovated City of Battle Creek Intermodal Transportation Center. The center serves Amtrak rail passengers, Amtrak Thruway Connection passengers on Indian Trails motor coaches, and Greyhound intercity bus riders.

Federal grant sets the stage for healthier living in Minneapolis

​A two-year federal grant to battle obesity and other chronic diseases through prevention is coming to an end in June, but the effects of the grant will help people in Minneapolis live healthier lives for years to come. Communities Putting Prevention to Work was a large-scale, two-year, federally funded program designed to increase physical activity and improve nutrition by making healthy options available and affordable in communities, at school and at work.

BTOP's Connecting America's Communities Map: Discover How and Where Maine Libraries are Making a Difference

​Maine Public Libraries, who are participating in the Maine State Library’s Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) grant within the Maine Public Library Information Commons Project, are represented on the new BTOP Connecting America's Communities Map. This map includes data provided by grant recipients nationwide and will be updated annually. Through this American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant 107 libraries in Maine received over 500 desktop and laptop computers to increase public access to the Internet and training.
