Studio photographs taken in a faux Member’s office were commonly distributed by Members in the mid-20th century. Catherine May uses this familiar form in this 1960s campaign postcard, an image that projects her status as a legislator through familiar imagery: the library of law books and the view of the Capitol behind her.
