GPO MOBILE

As people increasingly use mobile devices to access information, GPO is developing mobile apps to expand the ways we fulfill our core mission of Keeping America Informed. We will be continuing to expand our mobile offerings in the future, and you'll be able to find them along with our current apps on this page.

Plum Book

GPO's fourth app provides mobile access to United States Government Policy and Supporting Positions, commonly known as the Plum Book. Published every four years following the Presidential election, the Plum Book is used to identify presidentially appointed positions within the Federal Government. Using the Plum Book app, Users will be able to find policy, political and presidential appointed positions based on a variety of filters, including:

  • Organizational information (Branch, Agency, Organization)
  • Position Title
  • Location
  • Appointment Type
  • Pay Plan and Level
  • Tenure and term expiration
  • Vacancy

Presidential Documents

Released in partnership with the National Archives' Office of the Federal Register, the Presidential Documents app allows for mobile access to documents from the Daily Compilation of Presidential Documents. Users can search based on:

  • Date
  • Location, including device-based geolocation
  • Category
  • Personal name, location and subject

The Daily Compilation of Presidential Documents is comprised of documents released by the White House Press Secretary beginning in 2009 and concurrent with the change in administration, including executive orders, speeches, statements, approved acts, nominations submitted to the Senate, White House announcements and press releases.

Mobile Member Guide for the 112th Congress

Based on the Guide to the House and Senate Members and information in the Congressional Pictorial Directory, the app allows users to browse for Members of Congress by:

  • first and last name
  • last name
  • state
  • chamber
  • party

Member detail pages now include Member biographies, office contact information, and the counties and zip codes for which the Members serve.

Mobile Budget of the U.S. Government for FY13

The mobile app for the FY13 Budget of the U.S. Government provides mobile users with access to the text and images of the main FY13 Budget book, including the Budget Message of the President, information on the President's priorities, and budget overviews organized by agency. Summary tables are available in pdf format.
