  5. Viewshare.org has come a long way in 2 years. Take a look at some papers, presentations and blog posts that highlight access to digital collections.
  6. The ALA's Association for Library Collections and Technical Services and the Public Library Association are collaborating with the Library of Congress to disseminate information to public libraries about personal digital archiving.
  7. The European Commission open data portal -- which provides access to 5800+ data sets -- is now in public beta. The EC intends to open up public sector information for free re-use as part of the European open data strategy. It is also a first step towards a pan-European data portal that will provide access to all underlying national, regional and local data portals.
