Your Health Career Starts Here - IHS Scholarship Program

Recipient Responsibilities

It is your responsibility to maintain your status as a scholarship recipient within the guidelines explained in the following sections. These requirements include maintaining academic eligibility and submitting the appropriate reporting forms and documentation required by the IHS Scholarship Program.

In addition to these continued requirements, Health Professions scholarship recipients must complete the appropriate deferment or job placement forms prior to and during their final year of school. This is to ensure that they are complying with the policies of the IHS Scholarship Program when entering post-graduate clinical training or beginning their career in the Indian health system.

Please read the information carefully and note any information that pertains to you regarding your scholarship status. All of the reporting requirements and notifications of academic problems documents must be mailed to your IHS Scholarship Program analyst.

Download the IHS Scholarship Program Student Handbook (PDF - 12500KB) for more detailed information regarding your IHS scholarship and the responsibilities associated with maintaining your eligibility as a scholarship recipient.
