Register of Copyrights Marybeth Peters will be among the witnesses testifying before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary on March 13 at 10 a.m. in Room 226 of the Dirksen Building on Capitol Hill. The subject of the hearing will be "Promoting Technology and Education: Turbocharging the School Buses on the Information Highway." Her testimony will be available on the Copyright Office Website on Tuesday, March 13.

S.320 contains technical corrections to Title 17, as well as to the Patent and Trademark laws. It will correct punctuation and spelling errors, and eliminate section numbering errors in Title 17. These corrections were proposed last year in H.R. 5106, but the session ended before action could be taken on that legislation. S.320 has passed the Senate and was favorably reported by the House Judiciary Committee on March 8, with minor amendments to the Patent and Trademark oortions of the bill. It is expected to pass the House soon, and will then have to be re-approved by the Senate in light of the House amendments.
