Copyright Office Announces Dates and Times for Public Meeting on Copyright Protection for Pre-1972 Sound Recordings; Invites Participation Requests

The Copyright Office will host a public meeting on copyright protection for pre-1972 sound recordings on June 2, 2011, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and on June 3, 2011, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The meeting, which will be in a roundtable format, will be conducted to assist the Copyright Office in its study for Congress on the desirability and means of bringing sound recordings fixed before February 15, 1972, under federal jurisdiction. To participate in the meeting, interested parties must submit a participation request form that is available at http://www.copyright.gov/docs/sound/ by Monday, May 16, 2011, at 5:00 pm eastern daylight time.
