Army Safe is Army Strong!

As we farewell 2012 and anxiously wait to bring in the New Year, we must remember to practice precaution and safety as we celebrate. Below is an official letter from Army Senior Leaders at the U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center reiterating the importance of being safe this holiday season.

Army Safe is Army Strong!

The holidays are one of the rare times of year when much of our world unites for the greater good. As  Soldiers, you help make this goodwill happen through what you do every day for freedom, both within  America’s borders and beyond. Thank you for a job well done!

Look out for one another, encourage mature risk-taking behavior — where we identify hazards and mitigate the risk those hazards impose on our intended activity — and uphold the standard in execution. Measured risk-taking is acceptable, but gambling with your life, and the lives of those around you, is not. A single bad decision, whether it’s speeding on an icy road, driving after a night of drinking, or one of many others, can lead to tragedy in mere seconds. Think through your actions and be there for your battle buddies and loved ones.

2013 will be another busy year for our Army, and we need all of you in the fight. Be smart to be safe, and most of all, enjoy this magical time. We wish you the best during the holidays and new year!

Army Safe is Army Strong!
