Translation of A summarie and true discourse of Sir Frances Drakes West Indian voyage.

"First Latin edition ... The text is somewhat abridged from the original English version, which was published ... in the following year."--H. P. Kraus. Sir Francis Drake; a pictorial biography, 1970, p. 198, no. 20.

The original version was begun by W. Bigges, who died on the voyage, and completed probably by his lieutenant, Croftes.

L.C. has 3 of 4 maps by B. Boazio, matted and in a separate case (38 cm.) with a photo of the lacking map of St. Augustine. They belong to the smaller-sized set of engravings mentioned by Kraus.
