Summer Youth Jobs
Posted by on May 07, 2012
Summer employment is critical to the success of young people, good for business, and important for our country. But today’s youth are struggling to get the work experience they need for the jobs of the future.  Just 48.8 percent of youth between the ages of 16-24 were employed last July - the month when youth employment usually peaks. This is significantly lower than the 59.2 percent of youth who were employed five years ago and 63.3 percent of youth who were employed 10 years ago.

The Summer Jobs+ initiative has 90,000 paid jobs and thousands more mentoring programs, internships and other training opportunities for youth.  To locate an opportunity in your community, visit the Jobs+ initiative at:

Summer jobs are often a major life learning experience for young people.  What did you learn from your summer job?  What advice do you have for today's youth?  Please submit your thoughts below.

The site given to locate summer jobs opportunity is not working. Do you have another reference to locate summer jobs?

My advice is to make use of the web site pasted on the post. Do not be choosey about the work offered. It is better to put up with any job than not having one at all. Lastly, work hard, you may want this job next summer. http://www.bestluxuryrings.com

Due to this economic environment, its hard for anyone to find a job especially young people. My advice for young people looking for work is to keep searching for employment. When I was younger, I worked at fast food restaurants. I did not enjoy it, but it keep me from being unemployed. Last but not least, keep searching and a door will open. http://www.stuffforfreedaily.com

You should read the back of the newspaper to find jobs. Ask neighbors if you could babysit clean or watch for a dog.ON winter you could take shovels and clear the snow of someone for money. You could use Internet to get help type it on google like I did. http://www.getsarkarinaukri.in
