Freedom’s Fortress: The Library of Congress, 1939-1953, documents activities at the Library of Congress that helped to put it in the forefront of libraries around the world. Included in this presentation are discussions of how the Library dealt with World War 2, how it was reorganized to better meet the information needs of the United States and the world, and how it worked to put itself in the forefront of the fight to protect intellectual freedom.
