Wreaths Placed at VA Cemeteries Honors Vets

On December 15, volunteers—with the help of Wreaths Across America—placed wreaths at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery to honor our nations Veterans. Thousands more were placed on VA national cemeteries and state Veterans cemeteries throughout the country.

Report Reveals Further Reduction in Veterans Homelessness

VA announced that a new national report shows that homelessness among Veterans has been reduced by approximately 7 percent between January 2011 and January 2012. The decline keeps the Obama Administration on track to meet the goal of ending Veteran homelessness in 2015.

810 Vermont Ave Drainage Issue Corrected

The drainage issue that caused the water system at VA's Central Office to be shut down has been corrected. The building will be ready for occupancy beginning at 6 a.m. on Dec 25. Those scheduled to be on duty at 810 Vermont Ave. on Dec 26 may return to work at their normally-scheduled time.

VA Gulf War Task Force Report Released

VA has released the second in a series of annual reports from its Gulf War Veterans Illnesses Task Force, outlining how the department will address the concerns of Veterans deployed during the Gulf War of 1990-1991. The report focuses on efforts to improve the delivery of health care for Gulf War Veterans, including the launch of a prototype clinical care model specifically for Gulf War Veterans.

The PAR enables the President, Congress, Veterans Service Organizations, and the public to assess VA's performance on behalf of America's Veterans.
