      Great pictures but a shame nobody has made the time to correct the image so it is clearer. I fixed this one as a test in less than three minutes and it looked so much better. I used Corel PhotoPaint and increased the contrast and brightness and it brought out the image nicely.

      Correct it? that would be a pity, s it is in about as good a shape as it could be given the antiquity. Very early portrait, he's shown with a converted smoothbore! Must be prior 1862, by then most Feds were carrying rifle muskets
