Earlier this year, our playable Moog doodle inspired 300 million people to create synthesized music on the Google homepage. Later on, Moog held a contest at their annual Moogfest, in which people used the Google doodle as the basis for a new sampler. Today on +Google Play, you can get free songs using the winning creation. We're also sharing a short documentary about the collaboration between Moog and Google, below.
Today’s Surprise: Get free tracks from El-P and Carl Craig (US- goo.gl/aNS2j) and check out a documentary about the collaboration between Moog and Google.

Friday in Spain, we shared a doodle for inventor and engineer Leonardo Torres Quevedo. Torres Quevedo is credited with creating the world's first computer game—El Ajedrecista, an algorithmically powered machine that could automatically play a game of chess against a human opponent. He also designed the Whirlpool Aero Car, a cable car over the Niagara Whirlpool originally powered by cows. Our doodle today nods to both of these inventions.
If Torres Quevedo's name sounds familiar to you, it might be because we also celebrated him earlier this year, on the anniversary of El Ajedrecista. Read more in our blog post from October: http://goo.gl/27P60
