The National Rifle Association’s radio program, NRA News, recently broadcast an interview with former NRA President Marion Hammer in which she tore into the impulse among lawmakers to ban certain types of guns in the wake of the tragic shooting death of 26 in Newtown, Connecticut. She equated the banning of guns “because of the way they look” to the lamentable history of segregation in the United States.
