YouTube is getting better

YouTube gets better when you subscribe.

You probably know YouTube as the world’s largest library of video awesomeness. Your friends send you links to viral hits, your favorite blogs showcase undiscovered gems, and when you’re looking for something rare, you can always search and it’s there.

But did you know that YouTube is even better when you subscribe? That’s what this update is all about. Those awesome videos you watch belong to channels with many more videos like them. Subscribing to channels is just like adding your favorite shows to your DVR. Once you subscribe, those channels and all of your favorite videos will be delivered to you wherever you like to watch, whether it’s on your phone, tablet, TV, or desktop. Give it a try: subscribe to a few great channels.

A new look and feel

On YouTube video always comes first, and with this new design the site gets out of the way and lets content truly shine. Videos are now at the top of the page, with title and social actions below. Also, playlists have been moved up, so you can easily browse through videos while you watch.

You may also notice YouTube is looking a little more like other Google sites. Because you login to YouTube with your Google Account, we wanted our new design to remind you that all of your favorite Google features will follow you to YouTube.

Your new Guide to YouTube

YouTube is even better when you subscribe. Now when you subscribe to your favorite channels, we will add them to your Guide and make them available on every page of the site, and on your mobile device, tablet, and TV.

This is no ordinary channel guide. The YouTube Guide puts the channels you love at the top of the list and always shows you how many new videos are waiting for you.

We want to hear from you

Join the team who designed and built the new YouTube in a Hangout on Air. Visit our Google+ Page to see the available dates and times.

The team will also be holding a Reddit AmA -- you know, the thing where you ask someone questions on Reddit. Again, dates and times will be posted to the YouTube Google+ Page.
