Go paperless in 2013

It’s a new year, which means new resolutions. If you’re up for saving time, money and trees, going paperless might be a good goal for you in 2013.

+Google Drive is part of the Paperless Coalition, a group of products that help you live in a paper-free world. Drive makes it easy to keep all your work in the cloud and access it anywhere -- so you don’t have to carry around paper copies to all your meetings. And if you use paper to fax documents, print receipts, track expense reports or jot notes, the Paperless Coalition has apps to help with that, too.

Take the pledge at www.Paperless2013.com and invite others to do the same. Happy New Year!

As a printer by trade, I regret to inform everyone that despite what many have been told, paper is completely renewable.  Consider the fact that today, our country has 20% more trees than we did on our first Earth Day.  Many of my colleagues feel the same way that I do and I urge everyone to learn the facts before going "paperless."  We use electronic communication the same way as everyone else; however, we realize that it is the combining of the electronic and the physical that have proven to have a big impact.

Check out how Nomanini, a South African startup, uses a Google App Engine-based tool to enable entrepreneurship.
Google originally shared this post:
In rural areas, it’s common to use prepaid vouchers to pay for basic services such as airtime for mobile phones—but it’s often difficult to distribute physical vouchers because of the risk of theft and fraud.

Nomanini, a startup based in South Africa, build a portable device called the Lula which helps with this challenge. The Lula is a low-cost, easy-to-use device which generates and prints codes ...Expand this post »
