List of national park publications.

United States. Dept. of the interior.

CREATED/PUBLISHED
[Washington, Govt. print. off., 1912]

SUMMARY
American Memory note: This modest pamphlet is actually a very thorough and wide-ranging bibliography of books and (especially) periodicals articles relevant to the various national parks published between the mid-nineteenth century and 1912. Organized by park, and containing several hundred entries, the work is still extremely useful for researchers interested in the history of the national parks, and in American attitudes toward nature, wilderness, scenic beauty, and related topics in this era. As a survey of materials concerning the preservationist aspect of the conservation movement, this bibliography complements the Library of Congress bibliography on utilitarian conservationism which was published in the same year.
