AFS 5691-5743: Seamus Doyle South American Recordings
Fifty-three 12-inch discs of music recorded in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay, by Seamus Doyle, July-September, 1941, while Doyle was on tour with the Kirstein American Ballet Group. The collection includes Doyle's 6-page typed journal entitled "Report on the collection of folk music in South America," and a song list including performers, titles, and genres.

AFS 9028-9032: Joseph Hocking / Peruvian Recordings
Five 12-inch discs of Quechua folktales told by J. M. B. Farfán, 4 folksongs in Quechua, and Aymara language lessons recited by Professor Jorge Aberto Panigua. Recorded in Lima, Peru, by Joseph Hocking, January 24, 1947. The collection includes a 1-page content list. (45 minutes; LWO 5111 reel 177B-178A)

Four 12-inch discs of religious hymns, sermons, and songs, in the Huancayo dialect of the Quechua language, accompanied by organ and violin. Recorded in Huancayo, Peru by Joseph Hocking, August 4, 1947. The collection includes 2 pages of a list of contents and correspondence. (30 minutes; tape copy on LWO 5111 reel 178)

AFS 9916: Charles Seeger Peruvian Folk Music
One 16-inch disc of 10 Peruvian folk songs by Moises Vivanco and the Imma Summack Inca Trio. Recorded at an unknown location, October 14, 1949. Donated by Charles Seeger. The collection includes a 1-page song list. (30 minutes; tape copy on LWO 5111 reel 280B)

AFS 10,087-10,088: Ministerio de Educacion Peruvian Material
Two 10-inch tapes of 100 traditional Peruvian songs including carnavales, huaynos, dances, ritual herding songs, and charango and pincullo instrumentals, performed by various groups at the Feria de Octubre. Recorded in Lima, Peru by the Ministerio de Educación Pública, 1949. The collection includes a 5-page list containing song genres, performers, and titles. (4 hours; LWO 1770)

AFS 11,831: Patricio Castillo Urquidi: Lecture / Recital on Incan and Aztec Music
One 7-inch tape of a lecture-recital entitled "The Music of the Incas of Peru" by Professor Patricio Castillo Urquidi, including five violin arrangements of Incan and Aztec music, "The Hymn to the Sun of the Incas," "The Invocation to the Moon and Dance of the Chicha," "The Inca Elegy," "Aztec Lament," and "Xotoles," performed by Urquidi. Recorded in Mexico City, Mexico, July 1959. The collection includes a 2-page transcript of the lecture. (35 minutes; LWO 3154)

Four 10-inch tapes of folk music from the jungle and coast of Peru, in Spanish, Quechua and other indigenous languages. Recorded in Amaralaere, Ancash, Apurimac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Culinas, Cusco, Huánuco, Junin, Lima, Orejón and Pasco, Peru by Enrique Pinilla, 1955-1964.
