Two copies of Selected Records of Trinidad Calypsos compiled by Joanna Colcord, including a description of calypso music and textual transcriptions from recordings. The recordings on which this manuscript are based, are at least in part in the Recorded Sound Section. Note: It is unclear whether these are the actual discs Colcord sent to the Library. The numbers in this manuscript appear to refer to Decca (78rpm) numbers.]

One hundred one 12-inch discs of field recordings of bele, carnival, calenda, bungo, passe, and calipso music and songs; religious songs, including Baptist hymns and shouts, Shango songs, and Yariba (Yoruba) songs with some translations of texts into English; popular sentimental songs; Anansi (nansi) story songs and stories; wake-play and ring games; children's songs; and a few songs in Spanish, including Christmas songs; recorded in Trinidad, West Indies, by Mr. and Mrs. Melville J.
