AFC 1940/005: Joanna Colcord / Selected Records of Trinidad Calypsos
Two copies of Selected Records of Trinidad Calypsos compiled by Joanna Colcord, including a description of calypso music and textual transcriptions from recordings. The recordings on which this manuscript are based, are at least in part in the Recorded Sound Section. Note: It is unclear whether these are the actual discs Colcord sent to the Library. The numbers in this manuscript appear to refer to Decca (78rpm) numbers.]

AFC 1942/008: Melville Herskovits and Frances S. Herskovits Trinidad Recordings
One hundred one 12-inch discs of field recordings of bele, carnival, calenda, bungo, passe, and calipso music and songs; religious songs, including Baptist hymns and shouts, Shango songs, and Yariba (Yoruba) songs with some translations of texts into English; popular sentimental songs; Anansi (nansi) story songs and stories; wake-play and ring games; children's songs; and a few songs in Spanish, including Christmas songs; recorded in Trinidad, West Indies, by Mr. and Mrs. Melville J. AFC 1965/004: Joseph E. Hall Calypso Recordings
One 10-inch tape of calypso songs by Atilla, Lord Invader, The Skipper, Lord Melody, King Radio, etc. Recorded in Port au Spain, Trinidad, by John Bessor, 1950. The collection includes a one-page log. (includes AFS 12303) (1 hour, LWO 4395) [catalog record]

AFC 1979/040: Steve Rathe Interview at 1975 National Folk Festival
Two 5-inch tapes of Steve Rathe of National Public Radio interviewing Leonard Emmanuel, hollerer, of Spivey's Corner, North Carolina, and Richard Semprit of Baltimore, Maryland, leader of the Trinidad and Tobago Steel Drum Orchestra at the 1975 National Folk Festival. Six CDs of Cape Breton, Mattie Johnson, Afghan & Iranian music, and Trinidad & Tobago Steel Drum. The 1987 Neptune Plaza Concert Series Collections consists of manuscript and print materials, audio recordings, and graphic materials that document the 1987 concert series sponsored by the American Folklife Center. Doctoral dissertation entitled, "Music & Migration: Aspects of Black Music in the British Caribbean, the United States, and Britain, before the Independence of Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago." Two volumes. Discusses the development and impact of calypso and related music. University of Warwick, Coventry, England. 1992.

Approximately 700 film and audio elements relating to Pete and Toshi Seeger's filmmaking from 1955-1965 at various locations in: Angola, Australia, Austria, Canada, England, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Somoa, Sweden, Tanzania, Trinidad, Ukraine, and the United States. In the United States, locations include Beacon, New York; Circle Pines, Michigan; Hamilton, Ohio; Huntsville, Texas; Los Angeles, California; Madison, Wisconsin; New York, New York; Newport, Rhode Island; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Washington, DC, among others.
