Photographs taken by the Architect of the Capitol may be restricted for "promotional or advertising purposes."

Access: Permitted; subject to P&P policy on serving originals.

Reproduction (photocopying, hand-held camera copying, photoduplication and other forms of copying allowed by "fair use"): Permitted; subject to P&P copying guidelines.

Publication and other forms of distribution: May be restricted. The Office of the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of the United States Capitol complex of buildings, building contents, and grounds. It generates and maintains a collection of photographs of United States Capitol complex and events. Because of the close relationship of the AOC and the Library of Congress, AOC photographs can be found in some Prints and Photographs Division files and collections. The AOC website at http://www.aoc.gov gives the following information about the use of AOC images:

For information about ordering images and permission to publish, please send a letter identifying the image that you would like to use and the purpose for which you wish to use it to:
