The Library of Congress Experience provides innovative access to rare cultural treasures in ways that inspire and engage. Discover new exhibitions that bring the world’s largest collection of knowledge, culture, and creativity to life through dynamic displays of artifacts enhanced by interactivity. Cutting-edge technologies provide dynamic access to the magnificent Jefferson Building and to the unmatched collections of the Library of Congress putting you “in-touch” with items on display allowing you to do such things as:
- Turn the pages of books from Jefferson’s library;
- Rotate Maya vessels and explore hieroglyphs;
- Examine pages from the Gutenberg Bible;
- Investigate edits made in the rough draft of the Declaration of Independence;
- Zoom into details of the 1507 Waldseemüller map that first named America; and,
- Play Knowledge Quest, an interactive game of discovery for all ages.
The companion Web site, myLOC.gov, provides tools for visitors to plan and continue a visit to experience the Library of Congress. For those unable to visit in person, key features of the Experience are also available entirely online. Visit online versions of all current exhibitions; those same unique interactive stations available in the exhibition galleries are presented online at myLOC.gov.
"Visitors to the new Library of Congress Experience will find an amazing place where they will experience highlights of the largest collection anywhere of the world’s knowledge and America’s creativity. They will meet the richness of the past, spark their own curiosity and imagination, and continue the adventure of learning online, at home."
- Dr. James H. Billington, Librarian of Congress
