Speaker Biography: In 2001, New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris created her urban fantasy series about a telepathic waitress named Sookie Stackhouse who works in a bar in the fictional northern Louisiana town of Bon Temps. Harris's 12th novel in the series is "Deadlocked." The series has been so popular that Alan Ball, creator of the HBO series "Six Feet Under" turned the books into the HBO series "True Blood." The show is now in its fifth season.
