Federal Agencies and Entities


Office of the Federal Register

  • In support of the Office of the Federal Register (OFR), GPO converted the Federal Register and Code of Federal Regulations into XML format, managed the development of the FR 2.0 website that uses this XML, and facilitated additional access to the XML through the Data.gov and FDsys web sites.
  • In support of OFR, GPO developed and released on FDsys the new online-only publication, Daily Compilation of Presidential Documents.
  • OFR has requested that GPO lead the development of the next generation of their mission critical eCFR and eDocs systems using the FDsys infrastructure.

Office of the Federal Register, Regulatory Information Service Center, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

  • GPO is collaborating with the Regulatory Information Service Center, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and OFR to provide enhanced access to the Regulatory Plan and the Unified Agenda of Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions.

Library of Congress

  • GPO and the Library of Congress (LOC) are collaborating on two major digitization projects, demonstrating converted content preservation and access in FDsys.
  • Under the direction of the House Committee on Rules, GPO is working with LOC and the Clerk of the House to provide access to Constitutional Authority Statements through FDsys.

Library of Congress, Congressional Research Service

  • Under the direction of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, GPO and LOC are collaborating on a project to enhance public access, through FDsys, to an authoritative version of the Constitution of the United States of America: Analysis, and Interpretation.

Office of the Law Revision Counsel and the U.S. House of Representatives

  • GPO worked closely with the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives to bring the complete yearly editions of the United States Code collection into FDsys in XHTML and PDF formats, enhancing public access to current and historical content.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

  • GPO is collaborating with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to provide access to the Coastal Zone Information Center Collection through FDsys.

Administrative Office of the United States Courts

  • GPO and the Administrative Office of the United States Courts are partnering on a pilot project to provide access to content through FDsys.

U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health

  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health to provide enhanced public access to Medical Subject Heading (MeSH), the National Library of Medicine’s controlled vocabulary thesaurus.
  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health to provide enhanced public access to PubMed, which comprises more than 20 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books.
  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health to provide enhanced public access to NLM LocatorPlus, which allows for searching of the collections of the National Library of Medicine.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory

  • GPO is in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to provide enhanced public access to NREL Outreach Publications and Technical Reports, which contains bibliographic information about publications developed or written by NREL staff and subcontractors.

United States Census Bureau, Foreign Trade Division

  • GPO is in partnership with the United States Census Bureau, Foreign Trade Division to provide enhanced public access to current and cumulative U.S. export and import data for over 18,000 export commodities and 24,000 import commodities.

U.S. Government Accountability Office

  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) to provide the public access to GAO Reports and GAO Comptroller General Decisions.

The Interagency Council on Printing and Publications Services

  • GPO is in partnership with the Interagency Council on Printing & Publications Services (ICPPS) to support and enhance Federal organizations in meeting their communication mission through GPO. The ICPPS consists of printing officers representing Federal organizations from the executive, judicial and legislative branches.

United States Postal Service

  • GPO collaborated with the United States Postal Service to create a postmark passport.

U.S. Department of State

  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. Department of State to provide Secure Federal Credential products and services.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

  • GPO is in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security to provide Secure Federal Credential products and services.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide Secure Federal Credential products and services.

U.S. Department of Defense

  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense to provide Secure Federal Credential products and services.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation

  • GPO is in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigations to provide Secure Federal Credential products and services.

U.S. Coast Guard

  • GPO is in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard to provide Secure Federal Credential products and services.

General Services Administration

  • GPO is in partnership with the General Services Administration to provide Secure Federal Credential products and services.

 

Private Organizations and Educational Institutions

Google

  • GPO is working with Google to increase public awareness of Federal content by permitting the public to discover Federal books through Google searches. This is known as the Google Books Partner Program.

Cornell University Law Library

  • GPO is in partnership with the Cornell University Law Library to evaluate a conversion process of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) into XML (extensible markup language) format. The Cornell Legal Information Institute is converting various titles into XML and will be making them accessible on the university’s Web site for research.

Southern Methodist University

  • GPO is in partnership with Southern Methodist University to provide access enhanced public access to the Historic Publications from World War II Digital Library.

Library of Michigan

  • GPO is in partnership with the Library of Michigan to collect and maintain documents and Web links of interest to and in support of Federal regional depository librarians across the United States.

Association of Schools of Public Health

  • GPO is in partnership with the Association of Schools of Public Health to provide electronic access to Public Health Reports, the official journal of the U.S. Public Health Service.

St. Mary’s University

  • GPO is in partnership with St. Mary’s University for their Government Information on the Web Subject Index, which provides a starting point for browsing subject areas, bringing both broad and detailed subject listings from many libraries together in one index.

University of Florida

  • GPO is in partnership with the University of Florida to provide public access to the digital collection of Panama Canal Commission (PCC) and Isthmian Canal Commission (ICC) publications housed at the UF Libraries.

Naval Postgraduate School

  • GPO is in partnership with the Naval Postgraduate School, to allow Federal depository libraries to gain access to the Homeland Security Digital Library.

Government Information Online: Ask a Librarian

  • GPO is in partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago and the other participating Federal depository libraries to contribute to the “Government Information Online: Ask a Librarian” (GIO) service.

University of Illinois at Chicago

  • GPO is in partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago to provide public access to the Department of State Foreign Affairs Network (DOSFAN) collection of electronically archived information products produced by State Department from 1990 to 1997.

University of North Texas Libraries

  • GPO is in partnership with the University of North Texas Libraries to provide permanent public access to the Web sites and publications of defunct U.S. government agencies and commissions. This collection is known as the CyberCemetery.

Indiana University, Bloomington Libraries

  • GPO is in partnership with the Indiana University, Bloomington Libraries on behalf of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), on the CIC Floppy Disk Project, making publications that were distributed to Federal depository libraries on floppy disk available via FTP over the Internet.

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ Center for Economic Documents Digitization

  • GPO is in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ Center for Economic Documents Digitization, which seeks to preserve the nation’s economic history through digitization, to provide enhanced public access to the Federal Reserve Archival System for Economic Research (FRASER®).

Oklahoma State University Edmon Law Library

  • GPO is in partnership with the Oklahoma State University Edmon Law Library to provide access to an online browseable list of Federal Web sites based off broad subject areas known as Browse Topics.

State University of New York at Buffalo

  • GPO is in partnership with the State University of New York at Buffalo to provide Federal depository libraries with the Enhanced Shipping List Service, which assists them in managing their Federal Government collections.

Louisiana State University Libraries

  • GPO is in partnership with the Louisiana State University Libraries to provide enhanced public access to Federal Agency Internet Sites, a service that allows users to link directly to Federal agency Web sites after searching an index, or viewing a list of agencies that reflects the structure of the Government as identified in the U.S. Government Manual.

Overdrive, Ingram MyiLibrary, and Ingram Digital Distribution

  • GPO works closely with Overdrive, Ingram MyiLibrary, and Ingram Digital Distribution to provide eBooks to public libraries, academic libraries, and e-retailers.

 

Government and Private Organizations

General Services Administration and Google

  • GPO works closely with the General Services Administration and Google to provide Federal Citizen Information Center information to the public for free use.

The United States Commission on Civil Rights and the Thurgood Marshall Law Library

  • GPO is in partnership with the United States Commission on Civil Rights and the Thurgood Marshall Law Library to provide enhanced public access to Historical Publications of the United States Commission on Civil Rights.

United States Census Bureau and the Kelvin Smith Library of Case Western Reserve University

  • GPO is in partnership with the US Census Bureau and the Kelvin Smith Library of Case Western Reserve University to provide enhanced public access to the official mirror site for the United States 2000 Census ASCII text data files.
